Memory Piece: Aim For a Level Up

A vigorous cry echoes off the steep rock wall.

Eins: "Uwoooooo! Eins Muscle Power!"

Drei: "Eins! Grab the rock to your right and move to the next foothold! …good, reality training games aren't bad."

As Drei shouted out instructions, Eins climbed up the wall of rock, his eyes fixed on the summit.

Zero: "Taking into account the slope of the cliff, if he grabbed 15 degrees below that point on the left, it would have been more efficient."

Drei: "No, you're wrong! …damn, this maneuverability isn't good. Move just like I tell you."

Eins: "I'm still aiming to see this through to the top! Eins Ultra Rock Climbing!"

Zero: "…it seems our directions aren't getting through to him."

Zwei: "I brought tea everyone…and I see Eins is still in the middle of climbing. What was the reason he started doing it in the first place?"

Zero: "Drei goaded him into it. Said it was a training method to rapidly increase his physical strength. If Eins is physically strong, he should be capable of reaching the summit. I think there was some kind of compensation, but I don't know what."

Zwei: "Compensation…?"

Drei: "Leveling up has its own cost. If he does something to reduce the time it takes to level, it should shift the cost elsewhere."

Zwei: "And…what is that level?"

Zero: "Apparently, it's his hero level. The details on what that entails are unclear to me. Since you proposed it Drei, in what way is this training method defined?"

Drei: "Stamina, strength, intelligence…there's a lot, but this time we're focusing on physical stats."

Eins: "Oooh! Are you guys watching!? My majestic figure! Look, I'm almost at the summit! Atop this cliff is my princess waiting for my help! I will call on her with all my glory, then embrace her and leap from this cliff!"

Zwei: "Did he say princess…?"

Drei: "I invoked Eins' inherent skill, the power of delusion…when that's done, he goes on auto-pilot."

Zero: "He still has three meters till the summit, two…one…"

Eins' hand finally grasped the top of the cliff.

Then…-.

Eins: "The hero, Eins! I have conquered the cliff superbly!!"

Drei: "…well, that's that. The user-friendliness is one thing, but the post-game feeling isn't too bad."

Eins: "How'd you like that!? My hero level went up pretty high right!?"

Zero: "I expect your strength and stamina have increased. Considering the compensation…"

Eins: "Nope, analysis after! First let's drink to my great success! Zwei, get me some tea too!"

Zwei: "Sure, good work. Be careful when you come down. We don't want you to make a mistake and do something like jump. I don't really get this hero level thing…but I'm glad we could all get together like this."

……

After Eins' Hero Level Up Training was finished, the princes returned to the castle.

The compensation Eins was given for his level up was "Muscular Pain," which he was assailed with for two days afterwards…-.
