Memory Piece: Irreplaceable Memories

Small wings flapped and soared up towards the heavens…-.

These are the memories of the sky that day that can never be replaced.

Adiel: "It's almost snack time!"

Lucien: "They said today we're having black tea cookies from Orangette."

Micaela: "Yay, I can't wait!"

Adiel: "Alright! Let's have a race to see who can get back to the castle the fastest!"

Micaela: "Eh!?"

Lucien: "Adiel, make sure you're looking ahead when you fly. Don't forget you ran into a tree that last time."

Adiel: "I-I'll be fine! Last time I was just practicing flying low is all!"

Micaela: "W-wait you two~!"

Micaela chased after the two of them, their pure white wings flapping eagerly, and perhaps because he was in a panic, tears sprung to his eyes.

Lucien: "Guess it can't be helped. Come on Micaela, let's go back together."

Turning back to Micaela, Lucien held out his hand.

Micaela: "…yeah! Thanks Lucien."

Adiel: "We wouldn't leave you behind, even if you weren't crying!"

Adiel, who had already flown up high, returned to Lucien and Micaela, then smiled very kindly as if to ease Micaela's worry.

Micaela: "I wonder if when we get older, and our wings get bigger…will we be able to fly faster and even higher?"

Adiel: "Of course we will! If we get bigger, we'll get stronger and be able to fly super cool…-"

In the same moment he said it, Adiel was about to smack right into a tree…-.

Lucien immediately grabbed his hand, and they were able to avoid a crash.

Lucien: "…didn't you just say you weren't going to fly into any more trees?"

Adiel: "Sh-shut up!"

Micaela: "Adiel…! A-are you alright?"

Lucien: "Your cheek is scratched…probably from a branch. Once we get back to the castle, you'll have to disinfect it."

Adiel: "…you mean I have to use that medicine? No way, that stuff really stings!"

Micaela: "If you leave it like that, won't it hurt even more?"

Adiel: "But…"

Lucien: "If you do it, I'll split my share of the cookies with you."

Adiel: "! …it's a deal!"

Micaela: "Huh, Lucien, your hand is hurt too…-"

Lucien: "Ah…"

Adiel: "It's because of me…sorry."

Lucien: "…don't worry about it."

Adiel: "But I am! We're friends, so of course I'm going to be worried!"

Micaela: "Lucien, I agree with what Adiel said. You're always worrying about everyone else, but I wish you'd let us worry about you."

Lucien: "…alright. When we get back, would you help me take care of it?"

Adiel: "Leave it to us! In that case, let's get to the castle in one flight!"

Those small wings, still full of innocence, headed for the castle.

As if watching over the three of them, the clear blue sky stretched on forever…-.
