Ch. 6: The Selfishness of a Puppy (MOON)

Having received a summons from the king, I went to meet with him.

King: “Ah, Princess OO. I apologize for summoning you so suddenly.”

OO: “It’s alright Your Majesty. What do you need of me?”

King: “Ah, well it’s about Sirius…”

The king frowned and let out a deep sigh.

King: “Lately Sirius has grown quite attached to you, and it worries me. At this rate, it will be no different than what happened with Procyon. I fear instead of helping you have been saddled with a burden on account of what I asked of you.”

OO: “O-oh, no. Please don’t worry about me. I should be the one apologizing for not being able to do what you asked.”

King: “No, you’ve done enough. I wonder if the problem is with Sirius himself… I think you should take a break, Princess.”

OO: “Take a break?”

After that, the king arranged for me to be escorted for the day by one of the servants.

I had gone to town by carriage and was enjoying some shopping.

Well, the food from that restaurant I was shown was really good. And it was a lovely day enjoying the country’s natural beauty…but…

Throughout the day, all I could think about was Sirius.

The king told me to take a break. But I think it’s more fun to do these things with Sirius…

I once again noticed our separation.

It’s boring if I’m not with Sirius…

At the end of a long day, I returned to the castle and…

Sirius: “OO!”

I saw Sirius running down the hallway.

OO: “Ah, Sirius.”

Sirius: “Where did you go!? You got called by Father and then you were just gone and I got worried!”

OO: “I-I’m sorry. Actually today—”

Sirius: “Whatever, just come on!”

OO: “O-ow, Sirius!”

Sirius tightly grabbed my hand and started walking, anger on his face.

Sirius kept up his quick pace, and I felt as if I would fall as I let myself be pulled along.

What happened? Sirius is so angry…

OO: “H-hey, Sirius. Why are you so mad!?”

Sirius had brought me to a room where he shoved me onto a sofa and stood above me.

Sirius: “I’m not mad or anything.”

OO: “B-but you’re making that face…”

Sirius: “I said I’m not mad!”

OO: “…”

Sirius gripped either end of the sofa and looked at me.

In his face…

I’m wrong…he really isn’t mad…

He looked so incredibly sad.

Sirius looked like he was about to cry, like a puppy that had been thrown out.

OO: “I’m sorry Sirius. For going without telling you…”

Sirius’ face tightened into a frown.

Sirius: “Don’t go somewhere without telling me. I told you, I can’t calm down if you’re gone. I don’t like it when you aren’t here.”

OO: “Alright…”

Sirius’ face slowly drew closer.

My heartbeat shifted to a painful pounding.

Sirius: “OO…”

Sirius buried his face in the nape of my neck and took in a deep breath.

Sirius: “Your usual scent… it’s mixed with some other guy’s scent.”

OO: “Eh…?”

I was shocked by the low tone of his voice.

Sirius: “It’s that servant from earlier. No matter how many times my father orders it, don’t spend time with any guys other than me. You’re mine, right? Only mine. My girl. Right?”

He whispered the words like a soft sigh near my ear, and I could do nothing but nod.

OO: “…ah…”

I felt the faint brush of lips on my neck.

Sirius: “I won’t ever let anyone else have you.”

The image of the usual, innocent Sirius collided with this passionate and possessive one.

I was absolutely certain that, if it was Sirius, I wouldn’t mind him keeping me all to himself.
