Ch. 5: Resolution at Twilight (MOON)
I held onto Sky’s hand as we walked through the crowded town.
Sky: "Hey OO, you tired? You OK?"
OO: "No! I’m fine."
Sky: "Sorry…if I’d been just a little better, things wouldn’t have gotten so bad."
OO: "No, it’s not your fault. If I hadn’t been so careless…"
Although Sky was still protecting me, I began to feel guilty.
OO: "…"
Sky: "Hey now, don’t make that face."
Sky squeezed my hand, guessing at how I was feeling.
Sky: "…besides, I can’t keep draggin’ you around place to place…. Alright, I know what I’ll do. Sorta."
OO: "Eh…?"
Sky murmured the last part, then stared directly at me.
Sky: "We gotta keep going just a little further. Can you do that?"
Encouraged by his kind voice, the exhaustion fled from my aching feet.
OO: "…yeah!"
In the distance, I heard the rev of an engine.
Sky’s large hand was very hot as he held mine.
