Ch. 4: With a Serious Look (SUN)
The fields were wrapped in the beautiful red of the setting sun.
Within it, Al and I had begun to walk back to the castle.
Aldebaran: “Hmmm.”
Al suddenly stopped walking with a worried smile, and he stared fixedly at me.
OO: “Is something the matter?”
Aldebaran: “What do you think I should do to get the butlers to listen to me?”
OO: “…what do you mean?”
Aldebaran: “Mmm how do I say it…it happened when we were talking about the welcome party, but I had intended to tell them
about it seriously. But how to handle it, how to get them to accept it…”
OO: “Hmm…”
Firstly…
OO: “What about trying to talk with a more serious expression?”
Aldebaran: “A serious expression…”
OO: “Yeah. You’re always so happy, and you’re always smiling no matter what. When you want to be serious, try looking the
other person directly in the eye when you talk…”
Al’s eyebrows knit together as he chewed it over.
Aldebaran: “Be serious…and look them in the eye… I don’t know if I can do it, but I’ll give it a try!”
Al gave me a refreshing, full-faced smile.
I know it’s what I said…but Al’s smile is so lovely.
I felt the corners of my mouth lift up in response to Al’s smile.
