Randa was an interesting translation to say the least. I wouldn't say he was difficult, but he was different. According to his bio, Randa speaks broken Japanese. Or broken English as is the case of the translation. This means his speech was really easy to understand...but also kind of difficult. There are particles and markers in regular Japanese that indicate what is performing an action or where a feeling is directed, but because of Randa's way of speaking, we lose all that. But I think that's how it's supposed to be, as even the main character has trouble figuring out what exactly he's talking about some times. I also had to decide how much English was enough to still get the meaning across yet keep broken enough that his voice stayed the same.
The other interesting thing about Randa is the fact that technically his bio lists him as the 'son of the patriarch' which, for this game, does make him a prince, but it seems to have a different feel to it. I have his Dusk event version, but only 1 copy. I'm interested to see where his character goes in that story.
Also, I just want to point out *MINOR SPOILERS FOR MOON ROUTE* that Randa asks the main character if she's going to leave. So far, that makes him the first story I can recall where it's implied that the main character has other stuff to do and needs to be moving on after awakening the prince. Every other story I've read, I assume she stays with the prince in his kingdom, or travels with him depending on the end route. This is the first time she's actually intending to leave the prince and move on. I don't know why I found this interesting, but I did, so I thought I'd mention it!
