Alright, finally sat down and got through Toni's story! I did Toni at this point per a reader's request, though I had been eyeing him for a while and contemplating when to do his translation. I liked the idea of his character, and the whole thief image, and he turned out to be a really fun character to read through. I'm definitely of the opinion that the Moon Route ending is better! Usually the Moon Route is darker or sadder (not that that's bad)...but I honestly found the Sun Route to be sadder for Toni. Of course, that's just my opinion. I can see how the Sun ending might be more optimistic, but I still prefer Moon.
There wasn't a lot of difficulty in translating Toni. He spoke semi-casually, we had the same interaction that we see with a lot of princes where he asks the main character to not use formal dialogue, but other than that he was pretty straight forward. The one thing I'll note, and this is purely from my perspective, is that I went into Toni's story expecting a pirate-esque setting based on the thief image, which I also assumed meant we'd see technological development on par with what you see in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I was a little surprised when, and this is in both routes, there is mention of an alarm system. So clearly, Toni's country is more advanced than I had originally assumed. Am I looking too much into these kinds of things? Probably. I over-analyze the anime too, but that's just how I roll!
