Ch. 5: Flight (MOON)
A few days after that…
OO: "I swear I just heard the sound of wings."
Dulfer: "…"
-O-pen-up-
Prompting me with gestures, I hurriedly ran over to the window and…
OO: "What are you doing outside the window?"
I stood there surprised as Dulfer approached, his wings folded up.
Dulfer: "I came to whisk you away."
OO: "Eh?"
In an instant, Dulfer had his arms under my knees and lightly lifted me up.
OO: "…!"
That feeling of being suspended in the air was terrifying, and I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck.
Dulfer: "Good. Hold on just like that so you won’t fall."
Holding me, Dulfer started to drift upwards.
He again unfurled his wings and flew away from the window. At the time, it felt like my heart would stop.
We’re going to fly…!?
I tightened my grip on Dulfer and squeezed my eyes shut.
